Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for Saudi Arabia on a three-day official visit, with discussions expected to centre on Pakistan-Saudi relations and regional developments, according to the government and the Foreign Office.
The trip comes at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In a post on X, the government said the prime minister had departed for the visit, while the Foreign Office later outlined the main agenda in its weekly briefing.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Shehbaz Sharif will meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during the visit. He said the talks will focus on consolidating the Pakistan-Saudi bilateral relationship and exchanging views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Andrabi described the relationship as a long-standing partnership rooted in decades of mutual trust, cooperation and brotherhood. He added that the visit comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf and will carry significance beyond immediate developments.
According to the Foreign Office, the trip is also expected to help deepen strategic cooperation, improve coordination on regional and international matters, and reinforce multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Senior Pakistani officials accompanying the prime minister
The Foreign Office said the prime minister will be accompanied in Saudi Arabia by Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is already in Saudi Arabia after concluding a visit to Jordan, will also be part of the delegation.
An official statement on the visit was issued shortly after the briefing.
Shehbaz Sharif last visited Saudi Arabia in April, when he met the kingdom’s top leadership. This latest visit comes as the Middle East conflict widens across new fronts, including Saudi Arabia’s plans for a multinational maritime initiative.
