Truth Social to sell trading firms 'fastest' access to Trump's posts

Trump Media and Technology Group is moving into data licensing with a paid feed that will give banks and trading firms faster access to posts from influential Truth Social accounts, including US President Donald Trump’s, according to a monitored public feed reported by Dawn Tech.
The new product, called Truth API, is designed to deliver posts from the 10 most influential Truth Social accounts at a speed the company says is significantly faster than a standard push notification on the platform. A company spokesperson said the service is aimed at organisations that are most affected by even small delays in information, including algorithmic trading firms.
In a statement, Trump Media said the offering is meant to fill a gap for firms that have been manually watching Truth Social for market-moving posts. “Truth API closes the gap,” the company said, describing the launch as its first step into data licensing and a potential new source of revenue.
The move comes as Trump Media looks for additional ways to grow beyond its social media business, which has struggled to scale in a market dominated by much larger rivals. Interim chief executive Kevin McGurn said the company believes posts on Truth Social already influence markets and that wider adoption of the new service could create a meaningful recurring revenue stream.
Trump’s posts have repeatedly drawn attention from investors because they can move markets. The feed summary cited examples including his “Liberation Day” tariffs and comments on trade restrictions involving China. On April 9, 2025, Wall Street indexes rose sharply after Trump posted on Truth Social that he would pause many of his new tariffs for 90 days.
Market participants interviewed in the report suggested the platform’s posts have become a factor traders cannot ignore. Mark Spiegel, managing member and portfolio manager at Stanphyl Capital Partners, said Trump appears to be the only Truth Social account with consistent market-moving power. He added that posts from Trump “definitely move the market.”
The new service will also include round-the-clock coverage and an archive of posts dating back to 2022. Trump Media said some customers have already signed up before the planned August 1 launch. The company said the most-followed accounts on the platform include Trump himself, his sons Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, and supporters such as Dan Bongino and Sean Hannity.
The report also noted that some firms have been scraping Truth Social data for months, which a company spokesperson said violates Truth Social’s terms of service. McGurn said the company intends to make things more difficult for users who do not come directly to the platform.
The launch has also raised questions about fairness in trading access. Senator Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, criticised the move, saying it would financially benefit the Trump family and enrich Wall Street traders. Separately, Robert Frenchman, a New York lawyer who has defended clients in federal government trading investigations, said companies can tier information delivery in ways that may disadvantage some market participants, while still staying within federal securities rules.
The Donald J Trump Revocable Trust holds about 114.75 million shares, or roughly 41% of all outstanding stock in Truth Social parent company TMTG, according to regulatory filings cited in the feed. The trust manages Trump’s investments and is overseen by his children.
The White House did not immediately comment on the criticism. The report is based on a monitored public feed, with attribution to Dawn Tech near the end of the article.
