A Log Ride Turned Safety Headache

Tiana's Bayou Adventure has become an unlikely source of repeated safety scares this year. The trouble started on June 21, 2026, when a 13-year-old boy climbed out of his log car shortly before the ride's signature 50-foot drop and slid down the waterfall himself. He was hospitalized as a precaution and released with only minor injuries, but the incident was serious enough to put the ride's safety protocols under scrutiny almost immediately.

Disney's first response was a softer warning, telling riders they may be removed from the park for standing. That language has now been replaced. The new signage is deliberately absolute, stating guests will be ejected, a wording change that suggests the earlier, gentler warning simply was not cutting through. Twelve signs now ring the attraction reinforcing the message, alongside verbal announcements before each ride cycle.

A Pattern Cast Members Can't Ignore

The June incident turned out to be the first of three. In July, a guest stood up mid-ride and refused to sit back down, holding up the entire attraction for roughly 30 minutes before Cast Members were able to step in and remove them. According to one Disney enthusiast who says they have ridden the attraction on 243 consecutive days, the problem has become a near-weekly occurrence, with families getting kicked out for standing up at least once a week. What began as an isolated safety scare has clearly evolved into a recurring behavioral problem the park felt it could no longer address with subtle signage alone.
