October 1, 2026: Security forces have killed six terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, Balochistan, according to security sources, in another targeted action aimed at disrupting militant networks and preventing armed groups from consolidating their presence in the province.
The operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitan 3, with security personnel launching a coordinated strike against militants identified by security sources as affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan. The operation involved the use of quadcopters to locate and target the militants, allowing security forces to conduct a focused engagement in the area.
According to security sources, the operation resulted in the deaths of six terrorists, while a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants. The recovery of the weapons and ammunition is expected to assist authorities in assessing the operational capabilities and activities of the targeted group.
Following the engagement, security forces launched a comprehensive clearance operation in the surrounding area to locate any remaining militants, dismantle possible hideouts and secure the locality. The clearance phase is continuing, with personnel conducting searches to ensure that no further militant presence remains in the area.
The latest operation comes amid intensified counterterrorism activities across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces have continued intelligence-based operations against militant groups. Authorities have increasingly relied on intelligence gathering, surveillance technology and targeted operations to identify militant positions and disrupt planned attacks before they can threaten local communities or security personnel.
The development also follows separate operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in which seven terrorists were reportedly killed. In Nok Kacha, located in Chagai district of Balochistan, security forces conducted an operation that resulted in the deaths of two terrorists, while weapons and ammunition were recovered and militant hideouts were destroyed.
In another intelligence-based operation in the Bara area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij were killed, according to security sources. The operations demonstrate the continued focus of security agencies on areas considered vulnerable to militant activity and on disrupting networks before they can expand their operational reach.
Balochistan has remained a major focus of Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts because of the presence of armed militant groups and the province’s strategic importance, with security operations frequently targeting suspected hideouts, weapons caches and logistical networks. Authorities have maintained that intelligence-based action, combined with area-clearance operations, is necessary to prevent militants from exploiting remote and difficult-to-access areas.
Security forces have vowed to continue operations against militant groups until the threat of terrorism is eliminated from affected areas. Officials have also emphasised the importance of maintaining coordination among security and law-enforcement agencies, strengthening intelligence capabilities and ensuring the effective clearance of areas following targeted engagements.
The latest action in Kachhi therefore represents another phase in the continuing security campaign, as authorities seek to disrupt militant infrastructure, recover weapons and secure communities affected by the threat of terrorism.
