PM Shehbaz Returns to Pakistan After 13-Day US, UK Visit

ISLAMABAD, September 30, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has returned to Pakistan after concluding his 13-day official visit to the United States and the United Kingdom, during which he participated in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and held a series of high-level diplomatic and economic engagements.

During his stay in the United States, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif addressed the UN General Assembly, where he presented Pakistan’s position on a range of regional and international issues, including peace and security, Palestine, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism, climate change, economic development and reform of the multilateral system.

The Prime Minister also held bilateral and multilateral meetings with world leaders, senior government officials and representatives of international organisations, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy, regional stability, international cooperation and peaceful resolution of disputes.

Economic diplomacy remained an important component of the visit, with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaging representatives of international financial institutions, business leaders and investment groups to discuss opportunities for strengthening Pakistan’s economy, attracting foreign investment and expanding trade and commercial cooperation.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s investment potential in sectors including information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, energy, mining and minerals, infrastructure and other emerging areas, while encouraging international businesses to explore opportunities in Pakistan.

His engagements also focused on strengthening Pakistan’s relations with key international partners and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with the government seeking to translate diplomatic engagement into greater economic and development partnerships.

Upon his arrival in Pakistan, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry received the Prime Minister.

The conclusion of the visit marks the return of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to Pakistan following an extensive diplomatic programme aimed at presenting Pakistan’s perspective on major global issues while promoting the country’s economic interests and international partnerships.
