10 terrorists killed, 2 female suicide bombers and their facilitator apprehended in Balochistan operations: ISPR

Security forces killed 10 terrorists and detained two female suicide bombers, along with their facilitator, during operations in Balochistan’s Surab and Mastung districts over the past 48 hours, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), seven militants were killed in Surab and three in Mastung. The arrests, including the two suicide bombers and their facilitator, were made during the operation in Mastung.

The ISPR said the actions were carried out as part of continuing efforts against what it described as the “terrorist nexus” in Balochistan, referring to groups it named as India-sponsored Fitna-al-Hindustan and Fitna-al-Khawarij. It said the goal was to clear remaining terrorists and their support networks from the province.

Over the last 48 hours, security forces conducted multiple intelligence-based, area sanitisation and targeted operations in the two districts, the statement said. Weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices used by the militants were also recovered.

The military said the two apprehended suicide bombers and their facilitator in Mastung belonged to Fitna-al-Hindustan. It added that sanitisation operations were still under way to clear any other militants found in the area.

ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under Vision Azm-i-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eliminate what it called foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorism from the country.
