Supplementary charge sheet submitted in case against alleged drug baroness Anmol alias Pinky

A supplementary charge sheet has been submitted to a Karachi court in the case against alleged drug baroness Anmol, also known as Pinky, according to a monitored public feed citing Dawn Pakistan.

The Counter-Terrorism Department filed the supplementary challan on Tuesday and said it had uncovered 21 cases linked to the alleged drug network. Anmol was arrested in May in connection with the possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon.

According to the charge sheet filed by investigating officer Muhammad Mansoor, three suspects were arrested from Akhtar Colony in 2018, including Anmol’s brother, Nasir. The challan says a large quantity of hashish and cocaine was recovered from the accused.

The document further states that during interrogation, one suspect, Maiser Ali, said he had been told by another man, Aamir, that he worked for “Madam Pinky.” The challan adds that Aamir had spoken to Anmol over the phone.

Police said the accused told investigators that, on Anmol’s instructions, they supplied drugs “all over Karachi.” The charge sheet also states that the price of a gram of the illicit substances ranged from Rs12,000 to Rs15,000, and that the rate was set by Pinky.

The investigating officer said Anmol was later interrogated in the women’s jail where she is being held. The challan claims she confessed to being the ringleader of the network, after which she was also arrested in the case.

It also says Nasir told police that Anmol was his real sister and that the rest of the family had left for Lahore “out of anger.”

Fourteen witnesses, including the investigating officer, have been named in the supplementary challan.

Anmol had earlier been booked in two cases registered at the Garden police station involving drugs and an unlicensed weapon, and the report says she had already faced multiple other criminal cases before her arrest. Her court appearances have drawn attention, including after a video of her being escorted to court without handcuffs went viral on social media. She has also alleged during court proceedings that police pressured her to name politicians and other influential figures.
