Six bullet-riddled bodies were recovered from four districts of Balochistan on Tuesday, while separate incidents of firing, an improvised explosive device blast and a road accident left eight more people dead and nine others injured, according to a report monitored from Dawn Pakistan.
Police said the bodies of six unidentified men were found in Mastung, Panjgur, Kharan and Kalat. In Kalat district, three bodies were recovered from different localities. Officers said two bodies had been dumped in the Rej area, prompting a police team to reach the site and take custody of the remains. Another unidentified man was later found in the Chhapar area and shifted to hospital. All three bodies were kept at the district headquarters hospital for identification, though none had been identified by the time of the report.
In Mastung, local residents alerted police after finding another body in the Jungle area. Police said the deceased was believed to have been a drug addict. Another victim was found in Panjgur’s Nowan Kur area and was believed to have been shot dead before his body was dumped there. In Kharan, police said an unidentified man who had been abducted two days earlier after armed men attacked his house was found dead on the outskirts of the city on Monday night.
The report also described several deadly incidents in other parts of the province. Two women were killed in a firing incident in Kalat on Monday night while travelling from Zhob to Karachi. Police said the family’s car was targeted in the Mangochar area after the driver did not stop when signalled by unidentified armed men. In Quetta, two people were burned to death after an oil bowser caught fire at a petrol pump near Sariab Customs. Separately, in the Surab area, three people were killed when two vehicles collided head-on on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway.
